As I write, there are 55,700WordPress plugins available at WordPress.org/plugins, and a good number of commercial plugins to add to that.
How on earth do you find the right one?
The answer is testing. Start by identifying your requirement and searching to see which plugins other website developers have used.
In a spreadsheet, create a list of the plugins which seem right together and a selection of columns such as,
Plugin Name | Plugin URL | Date Tested | Rating
next add columns with the features you’d like have, for example, a contact form plugin comparison would include the following columns:
Custom Form | Spam Protection | Notifications | Conditional Logic
The spreadsheet will help you visualise the pros and cons of each plugin.
