![]() Case Study : HCT Learning
We met with HCT, a training company specialising in accelerated learning, mid July 2001 to discuss the aims & objectives of the website and to compose a brief.
Following the meeting a specification was provided and on approval we began work on a Flash animation to impress, aimed at the corporate market, to show a turning opening (exploading) head image to reveal the hct logo and an opening paragraph about the website.
We spent a long time working on the animation, the difficult thing with a textured spinning head was file size, each turn of the head required a new render. After weeks of experimental work we blew the budget out of the water, agreed a fixed fee for the project, found the head we were all looking for and threw out the idea of the head spin (much relief from the design crew).
The head animation was completed by the end of August, so it took 6 weeks to do. Once the static head was agreed more time was spent on experimenting with movement, text and other effects, every major change required further discussion and email correspondence.
Similar animations can be completed in the space of a week, provided we have source material and a clear idea of the storyboard agreed.
The website is no longer active, and hctlearning.com is available.
